Crafeteria The weekend is always cause for celebration, and to add further excitement, Phoenix's most out-of-hand craft fair is back. This year's Crafeteria, happening Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. in the parking lot of Medlock Plaza, will feature over 40 local vendors selling their handmade crafts. The event will offer plenty of holiday shopping opportunities, live music from Stinkweeds, and yes, there will be food. As usual Short Leash will be there with gourmet hot dog fare, but this time they're also serving up some holiday s'mores to sweeten your Crafeteria experience. Be sure to also pick up artisan Mexican food products like mole poblano, spiced hot cocoa mix, and cajeta (goats milk caramel) from Muñeca Mexicana while you're there. Flights of Fancy Beer Sampling Party at The Handlebar
The Handlebar and Grill in Tempe is hosting a Flights of Fancy Beer Sampling party this Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission to this limited-seating event is $10, which isn't bad when you consider what it gets you: a flight of 5 Four Peaks brews, your choice of bratwurst or supersized fries, and a chance to discuss craft beers with Four Peaks representatives. Tryst Cafe's Special Chanukah Dinner
In honor of Chanukah, which begins this Sunday evening, Tryst Cafe in North Phoenix is offering a special dinner of traditional brisket, latkes, and seasonal vegetables for $16. This menu item will only be available through December 16th (a.k.a. the final day of Chanukah). And while it's a nice thought to provide a home cooked meal for every night of the Jewish holiday, by about day 5 you're kind over the whole idea. Phoenix Invitational Brewers Festival
Because you can never have too many beer festivals, the inaugural Phoenix Invitational Brewers Festival is coming to Downtown Phoenix this Friday and Saturday, noon to 10 p.m., at Heritage Square Park. The festival celebrating craft beer culture will be bringing in 61 breweries from all over the country to sample over 25 different styles of beer. The event will also feature live music, food, vendors, and demonstrations on how to brew your own beer at home. Tickets are $10 and include one souvenir mug for sampling beers throughout the day.
