Happy weekend Chow Bella friends! Ready for another road trip?

This time we're heading out west to sunny Palm Springs, California for one of the desert's biggest craft beer parties. Then we'll head home for a few recovery beers from SanTan Brewery, and to wrap up our craft beer weekend, we'll be baking a batch of beer muffins.

Here's what's on our plate.

Eat This: Positive Contact from Dogfish Head at The Ace -- This Friday and Saturday, The Ace Hotel & Swim Club in Palm Springs, Ca and Dogfish Head Brewery are throwing a little party in honor of Craft Beer and the newest Dogfish Head beer, Positive Contact. The limited release brew is a fusion of cider and ale, spiced with cilantro and cayenne.The result is a tasty 9% ABV beer with characteristics similar to a Belgium wit.

The Craft Beer Party kicks off tonight with a dinner hosted by Stone Brewing's Master Cicerone "Dr." Bill Sysak and a dance party with DJ Day. The party continues Saturday with a craft beer museum, a craft beer tasting and pool party, and a taco party with Dogfish Head. Drink This: Count Hopula from SanTan Brewery -- Our favorite Chandler brewery tapped their first kegs of their latest seasonal brew this past Tuesday and we can't wait to get our mouth on a glass of this blood red IPA. The dark red Imperial IPA has a bitter bite but still keeps things balanced with lots of mellow malty notes. So good we're definitely going to fill up a couple growlers before the brew disappears into the night!

Bake This: Cheddar Beer Muffins -- Now that you can bring 64oz of your favorite craft beer home, you can start adding it to all sorts of recipes. Cheesecakes, donuts, spaghetti sauces, and BREAD! Since we can't live strictly off beer, we're ending our weekend on a savory note with a batch of Cheddar Beer Bread Muffins. We plan on sacrificing 6oz of our Green Flash IPA growler for this delicious muffins laced with tangy cheese and fresh green onions. These muffins would pair perfectly with a big bowl of sweet corn chowder or thick turkey chili. Enjoy!
