This weekend, while you're not working out in hopes of preempting next week's impending Thanksgiving calorie fest, there are plenty of ways to keep yourself occupied.
Here are our top picks for things to do this weekend:
Sip, Shop, Spa & Pretty Party @ Talking Stick
Combine going out with chilling out during tonight's party at Talking Stick with free mini spa treatments (like a quick foot massage or sugar scrub), cocktails, and shopping from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on the fourteenth floor. Admission is free. See details here.
A Bitch in Time @ Space 55
Round two of fresh solo performances from local female performers including Beth May, Kim Porter, and Jackalope Ranch contributor Sativa Peterson. Read what Porter had to say about the night out here. Ladies take the stage starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10, are available online, and benefit future productions at Space 55.
A Study in Sherlock Book Signing @ The Poisoned Pen
On Saturday, from 6 to 9 p.m., Leslie Klinger and Laurie R. King will discuss and sign A Study in Sherlock, a compilation of 18 Holmesian stories that they edited. The book includes short stories from Neil Gaiman, Laura Lippman, and Lee Child. Read more about it here.
Coffee, Cookies & Crafts @ Bragg's Pie Factory
This Saturday's fifth edition of Coffee, Cookies & Crafts brings together creative folks with a passion for all-things-handmade. Local participating creatives include Moderncat Studios, Sticker Club Girl, and Hazel & Violet INK, who will be showing their wares and swapping goods from noon to 5 p.m.. Shop around, learn some new crafting techniques, or gab and nibble your way through the sea of tables. Admission and parking are free. See more information here.
Nile Record Fair @ The Nile
Expect to see more than a few record store regulars at this LP extravaganza. Collectors, album flippers, and local shops will offer up a selection of unique musical finds during this annual fair. Entry is free. Flip through records from noon until 4 p.m..
