Looking for something to do this weekend? "Night Owl" is a quick guide to special nights at bars and clubs around town. We'll give you a few hints re: cover, dress code, music and atmosphere. Thursdays mark Thursday Night Open & Unplugged at Wok Star Bar.

Wok Star Bar's bizarre rock star charm, beer specials and acoustic guitars take center stage for Thursday Night Open & Unplugged.

The adjacent Chop and Wok restaurant may be ransacked by renovation but that hasn't stopped music lovers from enjoying the vintage store decor, signature shots and unplugged performances at the weekly event.

Check out the latest installment and our impressions after the jump...

The Place: 7136 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, AZ 85254

The Time: 9 p.m. until no one else wants to play, every Thursday.

The Cover: Zero.

The Parking: Lot.

The Bar:

The People: An intermingling of young and not-so-young acoustic guitar and beer enthusiasts.

What we loved: The haphazard hullabaloo hanging all over the place. Our favorites were the pair of Pink Floyd-esque pigs above the bar.

What we didn't love: The cramped space, which caused the majority of folks in attendance to hang out in the patio area and to essentially miss out on all the open mic action.

Are we going back? We'll see you there next Thursday.
