Take to the streets (er, avenue) during this Saturday's Grand Avenue Festival. The annual event is chock full of local art, culture, and design along the storied stroll and promises even more excitement in its third year of celebration.
3. Untrashed Recycled Rubbish Fashion Show
The challenge: Create an outfit. The really challenging part: Items used to create this outfit must be so-called junk or trash (think: beer cans or grocery bags).
Sure, the designs tend to look more whackadoo than wearable, but it's all in good fun. See what this year's designers, crafters, and other creative types come up with at Bragg's Pie Factory at 5 p.m.
2. ReDapt Commercial Building Tours
Get an inside look at commercial gems along and around Grand during the day's educational and exploratory ReDapt Tours.
1. Self-Guided Mural Tour
Pick up local artist Jenny Ignaszewski's pamphlet "Mural Street Love" during the festival, and take yourself on a tour of the neighborhood's public art, which includes murals from Francisco Garcia, El Mac, Luster Kaboom, and others with a passion for putting paint on walls.
