Top 5 Things To Do This Weekend

Waste Management Phoenix Open @ Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale
"Waste Management" (aka - not getting sloppy drunk) indeed for this T&A booze fest big-deal PGA tournament that takes through Sunday. Second-round play is going off at this very moment at 17020 North Hayden Road in Scottsdale. For more information, check this out.

The Youth Art Experience @ Grace Chapel
This showcase, organized by 3rd Space, 1N10, and Release the Fear, is meant to spotlight "the voices and creativity of queer, undocumented, and homeless youth" and will include live art/music/theatre and community chit-chats. It takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Grace Chapel, 302 West Monroe Street. Details can be accessed here.

MIM Celebrates Hip Hop @ Musical Instrument Museum
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Johnny Castro and Jackie Morales host a hip-hop blowout of mass proportions that includes live wall painting, a lecture by deep cat Dr. Matthew Whitaker, and a gaggle of musicians such as DJ Radar, Pickster One, and the Raúl Yañez Trio. The MIM is located at 4725 East Mayo Boulevard. There's a grip going on, so check out the particulars here.

2011 Phoenix Idiotarod
Super duper idiots, but fun ones at that, will pile into decked-out shopping carts and rush around downtown during an urban-style race that begins at 1 p.m. Saturday. The fifth annual Jackass-esque-a-thon is, once again, brought to us by the AZ Cacophony Society. For registration and/or viewing information, go here.

Super Bowl XLV
Duh. How could this not be on here? Anyway, if you don't have a Super Bowl party to hit up, go to a bar instead after checking out New Times' Super Bowl on TV guide and spots for Steelers and Packers fans to kick it. Remember: The game is scheduled to begin at 4:29 p.m. Sunday, so if you don't start watching 'til 4:30 p.m., the entire experience could be ruined.
