Blake Edwards, known for directing Breakfast at Tiffany's, died last week (Wednesday, December 15) at age 88 in Santa Monica, CA. He died of complications from pneumonia.

Edwards enjoyed a successful career as an actor, writer and director and his body of work also includes other famous like The Pink Panther Series, Victor, Victoria, and 10.

His wife, actress Julie Andrews, was by his side, according to this story on cnn.com.

Edwards struggled with alcoholism and drug addiction throughout his life but had allegedly cleaned up by 2002. In 2004, he received an honorary Academy Award for his life's work
