Thirteen years ago, a group of community merchants and neighbors on Seventh Avenue in Central Phoenix joined forces to turn the neighborhood around.

With help from the city of Phoenix's Fight Back Program and School of Architecture at Arizona State University, the group developed a master plan to revitalize the area. To celebrate their efforts, the group launched a street fair that brought community members together and showcased local business.

Twelve years later, the community will host its annual Melrose on 7th Avenue Street Fair and Classic Car Show on March 2 with more than 140 vending booths, 200 classic cars, and more than 18,000 visitors to the Melrose District. Vendors from around the state will be selling handmade accessories and apparel, arts and crafts, and home decor.

A few vendor booths we'll race you to: Strawberry Hedgehog, Bella & Bruiser, Phoenix Film Festival, Local First AZ, Practical Art, Nutwhats, Hauspanther, Ecocentricity!, Carol Roque, RunswithScissors, and Crafty Chica.

The street fair will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 2 and is open and free to the public with live music from Sara McAllister Duo, Pick and Holler, Bears of Manitou, KingFatHand, and the Lee Perreira Band. For more info, check out the M7 Street Fair website.
