With Labor Day just around the corner, we're already gearing up for a day full of, well, nothing really, except for being grateful to the awesome American labor unions for this blissful day of relaxation.

We've been on the lookout for end of summer deals that will put a little pizazz into your holiday plans. Here are five ways to spend your labor-free Labor Day.

5. Unwind at the Joya Spa The Joya Spa at the Montelucia offers a featured spa treatment each month, and starting September 1 you can snag a Cucumber Aloe Mint Masque Sunday through Thursday for $119 (normally $149.) The 50-minute treatment is designed to cool and refresh the skin using a "rich moisturizing masque of Italian Clays, extracts of agave, aloe, cucumber, peppermint, black tea and essential oils." Which sounds like the perfect recovery from the night out we have planned for Sunday.

4. Stay Cool at Arcadia Ice Arena

This family-friendly ice arena offers three public skate sessions on Labor Day. From 9 to 11 a.m., 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m. channel your inner Michelle Kwan or Shane Doan and get some exercise that might not even make you sweat. General admission $5.50, children under 12 pay $4.50. Skate rentals an additional $2.50.

3. Refresh at the Tocaloma Spa

It can't get much colder -- or more relaxing -- than an icicle massage. And the Tocaloma Spa at the Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort will be offering these and other summer-inspired spa treatments from now through the end of September at special prices. Think fruity (papaya and coconut) manicures and pedicures and AZ Foot Recovery treatments, designed specifically for the Arizona heat, starting at $20. During happy hour, noon to 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, you can score a 50-minute massage or facial for $70 a piece, which means we can stock up on all the relaxation we'll need. Spa guests also get free access to the pools at the Falls Water Village making this a two-for-one way to avoid the heat.

2. Catch the Last of the Summer Blockbusters

One of the best -- or maybe the worst -- things about summer is the never-ending tidal wave of summer blockbusters that hit the theaters as soon as the weather heats up. From Ted to yet another Bourne movie, there's never enough time to see all the mildly entertaining summertime flicks. For an elevated experience that might actually save you some cash, Studio Movie Grill offers $6 tickets for showtimes before 6 p.m..

1. Relax at the Royal Palms

The only thing we like more than hanging out by our own pool, is hanging out in a cabana by a pool we don't have to clean. For rates from $139 a night over Labor Day weekend, you can rest your head at one of the most breathtaking properties in the Valley. And with half off room upgrades, we might even bring some friends. Deal subject to availability and nightly resort fees do apply.
