The CO+HOOTS clan of local entrepreneurs announced it was moving out of its Seventh Street digs in July, and this month, the group is opening the doors to its new nest on Washington and 11th Street in downtown Phoenix.

Designer and entrepreneur Jenny Poon opened the coworking space in 2010, and the vibe has grown into that of a professional office (without a broken printer), a coffee shop (without the terrible music and ex sightings), and home office (wihtout having to pay attention to the laundry) with a mission to provide "a place where innovators of all kinds can collaborate and connect."

"The move will transcend CO+HOOTS beyond its functional role as a stand-alone collaborative space," Poon told Jackalope Ranch in June. "It will help institute a big-picture plan focused on creating enduring partnerships and breathing life into the entrepreneurial core of the city."

The new spot is a renovated 1940s auto shop with an in-house coffee counter, showers for bike commuters, additional conference spaces, and extra parking. Current coworkers include eeko studio graphic design, Tony Felice Pr, KWALL web development, Ubiquity PR, TabHere, Event Savvy, 80/20 Records, Fat Cat Software, Harder Development, Ideaology, JOYRIDE.com, News Quantified LLC, Eecosphere, Urban Pioneer Tea, Local One Marketing, Accounting Prose, Bobee Design, Uber, Heckler Design, Artifex 10 landscape architecture, Wired PR Group, Larry.org, ChicBranding, Sputnik Moment, and Flatterline web applications (to name a few).

The "rehatching" will take over the space at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 11, and will include live music from DJ Hoodwink, Bears of Manitou, PALMS and Bad Lucy, food from Luncha Libre, Buzznbeez and Hao Bao food trucks, and talks by Poon, City of Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton, founder and director of Local First Arizona Kimber Lanning, and Parchment CEO Matt Pittinsky.

Poon says free light rail passes to the party are available to the first 100 people to pick up from CO+HOOTS and rides home after the event will be provided by UBER, an on-demand private driver company.

To RSVP, check out the Eventbrite site and for more info, stay tuned to the CO+HOOTS Facebook page. CO+HOOTS also still offers membership on a daily and monthly basis and hosts weekly and monthly hikes, book clubs, and coffee and coding sessions.
