Gangplank Announces Downtown Pop-Up at ASU's Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication

It's a pop-up kind of summer, and per an announcement made this morning, Chandler-based co-working space Gangplank has joined the wave.

Through August 17, the collaborative workspace and Arizona State University will partner to create a public, creative hotspot in downtown Phoenix -- specifically in room 256 at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

The Chandler-based incubation space has hosted a number of community events -- brown bag lunches with car builders, mentorship programs, fitness events, public art celebrations -- since it was founded in 2008 and has remained a source of local geekery and creative inspiration for all types in Phoenix.

Founders write that Gangplank's mission is "[to encourage] the free exchange of ideas that will lead to innovative solutions that change the world" while "providing a safe environment for failure."

Their Downtown space will host an open house this Friday, June 8, from noon to 2 p.m. in room 256. Drop by for an opportunity to check out the space and to sign up for summer workshops, and check out the Gangplank website for more information.
