Given the abundance of shopping options Phoenicians have this fall, holiday gifts should be wrapped earlier than ever. Starting up this weekend are a handful of must-attend markets featuring clothing, accessories, furniture, and plenty more to suit the taste of your friends, fam, and, let's be honest, you. Here they are.
Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market With handmade goods and rust-tinged vintage pieces, the recurring Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market features local vendors hand-picked by self-proclaimed junk hunters and gal pals Lindsey Holt, Coley Arnold, and Monique Wallis.

The trio will host the final Junk sale of 2013 on Saturday, November 9, at WestWorld of Scottsdale with more than 140 vendors.
The first 300 people through the doors will receive a reusable bag. Early entry is $10 and allows attendees inside at 8 a.m. Those who pay $5 for general admission can access the sale at 10 a.m. Either way, the event wraps at 3 p.m. Shoppers should bring cash, as not all vendors accept cards. The next Junk in the Trunk is slated for April 2014.
Merry May Vintage Sale Merry May Vintage is a boutique housed in a throwback trailer. Usually around this time of year its owner, Ashley Eaton, would start toting the mobile shop around town to various events and festivals. But when her generator was stolen earlier this year, Eaton had to come up with a backup plan for getting her goods to her loyal shoppers.
Her solution? Bring the customers to her. Eaton will host the Merry May Vintage Sale in her backyard at 1430 East Edgemont Avenue. Merry May fans will find everything from Eaton's trademark girly clothes and cute accessories to bigger items she wouldn't be able to fit in her trailer, like furniture, all at deep discounts. Eaton says that without the generator she and her trailer will be out of comission through spring, so this might be your last chance for a Merry May fix for a while.
Shop the sale at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 9. There's no charge for admission. And Eaton says her mom will supply the snacks. RSVP via Facebook.
The Big Heap Vintage & Handmade Festival The Big Heap brings buyables en masse to Cave Creek. Shoppers will find vintage gems, industrial pieces, and handmade works, in addition to recycled, upcycled, and salvage -- a.k.a. a whole lotta stuff. What they won't find? That'd be mass produced crap and crafts from the '90s, according to event organizers. Okay by us.
Dive into the Heap at 3841 North Schoolhouse Road Friday, November 15, through Sunday, November 17. Admission is $5 per day. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Phoenix Flea Ashlee Molina will host the inaugural Phoenix Flea on November 29 and 30 at Historic Heritage Square.
Around 50 local vendors will hawk antiques, vintage goods, art, crafts, clothing, and snacks. While the full lineup hasn't been released yet, a few participants have been announced, including Indie Nook, GrowOp Boutique, Native Thread, The Letter House, Maj Tees, Wendy Grace Jewelry, and Floating Specs. Tickets to the market, which starts at 10 a.m. both days, will be $5.
Fifth Annual Ornament Marketplace Heard Museum hosts its fifth annual marketplace where Christmas ornaments are the stars (instead of, y'know, stars).
The shopping event will feature 20-plus Native American artists and their hand-crafted ornaments, featuring elements of wood, beads, and pottery. This year's signature ornament is from silversmith Howard Sice, features a Hopi maiden, costs $175, and is available in a limited run of 20. The market also will offer wreaths, books, and live musical performances.
Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, November 28 through 30, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, the event is free and open to the public.
