Arizona International Auto Show @ Phoenix Convention Center
Sure, it may be a weekend for family and turkey leftovers but to many folks out there, it will also be a weekend filled with drool-inducing automobiles on display. Major auto manufacturers (both domestic and imported) show off their latest pieces of machinery Thursday through Sunday. Check this out for more details.
Third Annual Ornament Marketplace @ Heard Museum
The day after Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the real holiday season. Yes, it's a mad dash to the finish line so head to this little shopping shindig that runs from Friday to Sunday to get a good warm-up and snag some unique ornaments made by over 20 Native artists. Both Heard on Central and Heard North will both host the event.

Fantasy of Lights Opening Night Parade on Mill Avenue
We already likened this event to the Main Street Electric Parade from Disneyland in our calendar write-up but we neglected to point out a distinguishing factor: this parade has Santa for the kids and bars for the adults. That's waaaaay better than what used to go down on Main Street. Switches get flipped on Saturday night. Click here for details.
Ice Skating @ CityScape
It's an outdoor ice skating rink, folks. For real. The fine folks at CityScape found a way to keep a giant block of ice from melting and invite all of us to slip around on top of it starting Saturday night. The grand plan is to make this an annual holiday event with the rink open through January 15. Wanna know more? Click here.
Doodle @ Home
Let's face it, you probably just want to lie around in your own post-Thanksgiving filth this weekend. That's fine with us. But if you have a paper and pen within arm's reach, doodle a little something and send a jpeg of your work to [email protected] It may end up on some upcoming Jackalope Ranch posts. Besides, you know you have nothing better to do. (To read more about Don Kenn, click here.)
