Being the avid New Times reader that you undoubtedly are (oh, you!), you've probably already heard of the opening of "Seriously Funny" tonight at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

So, yes, there's an opening tonight at the museum from 7-9 p.m. but I want to talk about a peripheral project that you don't have to walk through museum doors to see.
Artist Nina Katchadourian launches her temporary site-specific art installation today called "Monument to the Unelected".
Katchadourian is messing with her public audience here.
And she's taking a cheap shot by not only quizzing us on American
History (ugh) but also by focusing on obsolete subject matter...
She has produced campaign signage in a contemporary advertising style
that promotes all the candidates who have ever lost an American
presidential election.
The mugs of these poor souls are thrown around the following spots:
- a front lawn on Thomas Rd, west of Pima Rd in Scottsdale
- a vacant lot on Roosevelt and 5th St in downtown Phoenix
- a Metro Light Rail Park-And-Ride stop at Price and Apache in Tempe (at the 101 off ramp)
Yes, just head to any of these places to see the history of those that
were chumped in our presidential elections and then feel like a total
chump for not recognizing any of them.
