If you didn't know this flier was for a rock show, you might say it was downright pretty, with a poignant image juxtaposed with a fancy headline.
Brad Wiatr, of the indie progressive band The Other 49, designed the poster in honor of the group's show this Friday, October 1 at the Rogue Bar in Scottsdale. It is the first in a series of charity shows the group is putting on, and all the proceeds from the event benefit the St. Mary's Food Bank. It's fitting the flier shows feet on the street, since so many of the Valley's homeless get meals from food St. Mary's Food Bank provides.
Preview The Other 49's music before the show by logging on to their website, www.theother49.com. You can download their current 7-song album, A Cold Open, there.
The guys are joined by Underground Cities, Static March and Saddles for the 21-and-older show, which starts at 8 p.m. and costs $4. The admission fee is the equivalent of distributing 28 meals to the hungry, and The Rogue Bar will also be donating a percentage of the bar tab to the charity. Of course, further donations are appreciated. Check out www.myspace.com/theroguebar for more details.
