R.I.P. Donna Summer; The Queen of Disco Succumbs to Cancer

It's been a week of sad news: The auto world lost Carroll Shelby, Vidal Sassoon's passing shook up the fashion realm, and Mary Kennedy is once again stirring up rumors of the Kennedy curse. Today, the world of music has lost another great voice. Donna Summer, the Queen of Disco passed away this morning at the age of 63, TMZ reports. According to Newser, she tried to keep the severity of her illness quiet.

Summer was a five-time Grammy award winner who dominated the 1970s disco charts with hits like "Hot Stuff," "Last Dance," "Bad Girls," and "Love to Love You Baby."

Summer is survived by her husband Bruce Sudano of Brooklyn Dreams, and their two children According to Newser, she was working on a new album before her death.

Celebrities are giving their condolences to Donna Summers on Twitter. There's talks of rollerskating, disco, and lots of respect.
