Foreigner and Journey at the Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavilion In all my years attending concerts at this pavilion (under its myriad names), I've never seen traffic like what we waded through before the Foreigner/Journey concert. Cars were still backed up and blocking the intersection at 83rd Avenue and McDowell an hour after the concert started. The upside of this surprising throng (who knew two bands who peaked in the '80s could still draw such a massive audience?) was this dude who flashed his man-boobs at the long queue of cars waiting to pull into the AFHSP. Dressed in cut-off jean shorts, a purple cut off T-shirt that read "I'm with the band," and sporting an orange and yellow ascot, mountain man beard, and big cop sunglasses, he danced around and yelled indecipherable things. Alkaline Trio at Nile Theatre, 7/24/11 After 15 years, the guys in Chicago punk staple Alkaline Trio still rock as hard as ever. It just may be a bit harder to hear them over the roar of their boisterous fan base. From the moment the band took the stage at the Nile Theater in Mesa, the crowd went nuts. The crowd knew the words and sang along, so much so that lead singer Matt Skiba and bassist Dan Andriano could easily have went the entire set without uttering a single word...full story

Red Line Chemistry at 910 Live "This Phoenix show is by far the best we've done yet on this tour," admits Red Line Chemistry bassist Tom Brown, pushing his black-stripe-spiked mop of hair from his forehead after finishing his performance at 910 Live last night.
