Video may have killed the radio star, but video could also nab one Valley resident a free trip to this year's Grammy Awards at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.
MyStudio Music is having a contest, wherein entrants record a video of themselves singing or playing an instrument at the MyStudio visual recording booth at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. Judges will pick ten finalists from the video submissions, based on each entrant's musical skills, presentation, and entertainment ability. The finalists' videos will then go online for an Internet vote to determine the winner.
Above is a video that shows the MyStudio booth. Read on for details and more videos.
It costs $20 to record a video at the MyStudio booth in Scottsdale, but entering the contest is free. Deadline is January 31, 2009 -- the judges will announce ten finalists on February 1, and online voting takes place February 2, with the grand prize winner announced on February 3.
The winner will receive two tickets to the 51st Annual Grammy Awards on February 8, as well as round-trip airfare, hotel, and ground transportation.
If you're interested in entering the contest and want to know what you're up against, check out this early submission video.
