It turns out that Cee-Lo Green's song "F*ck You" isn't about a girl at all, but rather about the music industry, according to NME.
"I was in a place where subconsciously, my 'f*ck you' was aimed at the industry itself," Cee-Lo told NME. "You have to be kind, you have to court it, and be considerate and be consistent, and put up with its bullshit. At the end of the day, my aim is on the game. Killing is business. Murder is emotion. I'm killing the game, baby."
Is it really polite, Cee-Lo, to actually say "f*ck you" to the music industry, aka your boss? Apparently he's got more anger built up towards record execs than anyone thought.
You'd probably never be able to infer that from the song's music video though, which features a cutesy story of young love in a diner. Not to mention that the radio edited version is barely worth playing on the radio considering it's tough to get through the chorus and still have a whole sentence pieced together.
