So, sadly, Phoenix does not appear to be getting of Montreal’s Skeletal Lamping Tour, which MTV says is a much better bet than Madonna’s latest tour – and features Kevin Barnes on horseback, staging his suicide and covered in whip cream - but a few shows by related acts were announced this week.
Icy Demons, who are opening a series of dates on the Skeletal Lamping tour play the Rhythm Room on Wednesday, November 26th with Yeasayer in support of their new album, Miami Ice (Obey Your Brain). They’ve also opened for Slint, Arcade Fire and Man Man, so they’re pretty hotly tipped right now. Here’s a video of them playing at the Pitchfork festival.
Dressy Bessy, who is, like of Montreal part of the Elephant 6 collective that also includes Apples in Stereo and Neutral Milk Hotel, comes to Modified Arts on Dec. 4. Judging by the video on the jump, their stage show is about as different from oM’s as you can get.
