Here's some major concert news to tide y'all over until our usual batch of just announced shows on Friday: We got word this afternoon from Stateside Presents that they're bringing in legendary art/indie rockers Sonic Youth for gig at the Marquee Theatre on Thursday, October 1.

Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, and the rest of the band are coming off a stellar headlining appearance at Seattle's Capitol Hill Block Party this past weekend where they shared the bill with another 90s indie scene favorite the Jesus Lizard (which recently reunited). The Sonic Youth members are kinda getting a little long in the tooth (the average age is around 50 years old), which might explain the title of their latest Matador release, The Eternal.

It should still hopefull be a good show, especially for those who wanna hear "Little Trouble Girl" or "Bull in the Heather" live and in person.

No opening acts have been announced as of yet. Tickets go on sale this Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Visit www.statesidepresents.com.
