And you'll be relieved to know that this blog won't require you to rush out tonight or change plans for your weekend. No, this time, I'm giving you weeks advance time to get your mess together.

And with good reason...this event calls for some serious physical training. It's the annual Night Run for the Arts, benefiting youth education and outreach programs at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.

As you can imagine, there are all kinds of details involved with something like this. You can sign up for three miles or eight miles, you can run alone or with a group...there are a ton of options that you can explore here, on the event's website.

So if you like to run, may as well do it for a good cause.

And then tell me what a great event it was...hey, I'm a hiker, not a runner.
