Arizona State University, the reformed party school, isn't earning a passing grade in LGBT-Friendly 101.
That is, its programs, practices and policies aren't as friendly as they could/should be to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

ASU only received 2.5 out of 5 stars, placing it at the bottom of the 82 universities in large urban cities (500,000+) ranked by Campus Pride Index. Only four universities performed worse, and seven did equally as bad as ASU.
Campus Pride, a nonprofit that supports safer, more LGBT-Friendly learning environments at colleges and universities, scores based on academic and student life, school policies, campus safety and recruitment and retention efforts.
Overall, it ranks 382 campuses across the country.
By comparison, Northern Arizona University received 5 stars, University of Arizona received 4.5 stars, and Glendale Community College scored 4 out of 5 stars on the LGBT-friendly scale.
Sharon Keeler, ASU's director of communications, has not returned our calls for comment.
And, as the State Press recently reported, ASU officials' decision to rid itself of "its staff position for a full-time LGBTQA specialist, as well as advisers for several other campus cultural coalitions" will likely give the school an less-LGBT-friendly reputation.
The university plans to replace the eliminated specialist and advisers with a team of advisers serving all of the groups, State Press reports.
