Phoenix police shot and killed a suspect on a domestic-violence call last night. Investigators say officers arrived at 19th avenue and Bell Road, and found the suspect walking outside. The 51-year-old man, reportedly pulled a gun as officers approached. Two officers fired their weapons, and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The officers have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure when officers discharge their weapons...Brittney Williams, the Phoenix woman whose newborn baby died January 11 after she put it in a dumpster, has been charged with second-degree murder and child abuse...A Mesa mother has been charged with two counts of child abuse after admitting she locked her 2-year-old son in a closet while she went to work. Corinna May Davis, 21, also admitted to spanking her son and leaving bruises. The boy was taken to a hospital and then released to Child Protective Services...Some Australians celebrated their national day yesterday in an interesting way: they wore bikinis and wrestled in Vegemite.
