Things could have been a lot worse for a Phoenix teen who thought it would be a good idea to play with her dad's gun. The teenage girl shot herself in the hand while fiddlin' around with it yesterday morning.

Phoenix police say the girl, described only as a teenager from Phoenix, was alone at her home near 40th Street and Union Hills Drive about 11 a.m., when she found her father's gun and started messin' around with it.

Anyone who's seen The Sixth Sense (Bruce Willis' character was dead the entire time, by the way) knows nothing good happens after a kid utters the phrase, "I'll show you where my dad keeps his gun -- come on!"

While the girl was playing with the gun, it went off. Luckily, the bullet didn't leave a gaping hole in the back of her head -- like the creepy kid from the movie -- but it did hit her in the hand.

It's unclear what caused the gun to fire, or where the father kept the gun that made it so easy for his daughter to get her hands on it.

Thankfully, the girl is OK -- she was taken to a Phoenix hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
