Phoenix Election Day: Party With the Winners, Console the Losers

Wanna party with the politicos?

Phoenix mayoral candidates are hosting parties in central Phoenix to wrap up their long journeys on the campaign trail.

Well, it's going to be the halfway point for two candidates: The two challengers with the most votes will advance to a run-off election on November 8.

Here's where all the party people will be hanging out tonight:

Councilman Claude Mattox is having a shindig at the offices of Riester, the consulting firm that has been guiding his campaign. It starts at 7 p.m. tonight at 802 N. 3rd Avenue (between Van Buren Avenue and Roosevelt Street).

Former Councilman Greg Stanton is co-hosting a party with Councilman Michael Nowakowski, who is running to keep his seat in District 7. That rally is at the A.E. England Auditorium at Civic Space Park, 424 N. Central Avenue (Central Avenue, south of Fillmore).

Candidate Wes Gullett is having his election night party starting at 7 p.m. at Alexi's Grill, 3550 N. Central Avenue (Central Avenue, south of Columbus Avenue).

Jennifer Wright is hosting her party at 7 p.m. at the Bluewater Grill, 1720 E. Camelback Road.

Former Councilwoman Peggy Neely is hosting a private reception for family and friends, but making herself available to the media at 9 p.m. at City Hall.

Phoenix resident Thane Eichenauer is running as a write-in candidate for Phoenix mayor.
