The FBI's bandit-naming department is at it again, and the latest bandit name is even dumber than yesterday's "no tricks bandit," who was shot last night by the Dirty Harry of the Scottsdale Police Department, as pointed out in another Valley Fever post. Check it out here.
The FBI is now looking for the "Chameleon Bandit," who got the name because -- like most people -- he changes his clothes every day.
With all the resources of the FBI, you would think agents could be a little cleverer.
"The Chameleon Bandit," according to the FBI, is responsible for five bank robberies in the Tucson area over the last few months.
Like many "bandits" before him, the "Chameleon" walks up to bank tellers with a threatening demand note, has the teller fill a bag with cash, and then he hits the road.
In his last two robberies, the FBI says the suspect claimed to have a gun.
Below is the FBI's description of the bandit.
The unknown male is described as a Hispanic male with a light to medium complexion, mid 30's to early 40's, 5'1 - 5'3", 140 - 150 lbs., shaved head, dark mustache or goatee, may also be clean shaven with deep acne scars. He has worn glasses and a beanie cap with "Colorado" on the front label. His clothing is casual such as a gray hooded sweatshirt, jeans or khaki pants.
In each of the robberies, the suspect was seen getting into the passenger seat of two different cars, which hardly makes him a chameleon but rather suggests he has an accomplice, who also happens to own a car.

On January 8, 2010, the unknown male was observed entering a 2006 silver Dodge Durango on the passenger side following the robbery. On February 10, 2010, the unknown male may have entered a late model Nissan gold or brown sedan with Sonora plates.

- 02/06/10: Compass Bank, 7000 N. Oracle Road, Tucson.
- 01/22/10: Compass Bank, 6393 E. Speedway Blvd., Tucson.
- 01/08/10: Bank of the West, 3775 W. Orange Grove Road, Tucson.
- 12/30/09: Wells Fargo Bank, 2150 W. Grant Road, Tucson.
