This afternoon, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio will have his butt kissed by meet with Minnesota Congresswoman/presidential candidate Michelle Bachmann in her attempt to woo him into endorsing her campaign.
Meanwhile, presidential candidate Mitt Romney will be in Arizona, and according to America's self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff," he's also courting Arpaio for an endorsement.
"Got a call today from Gov. Romney, we spoke about illegal immigration
and had a nice chat, similar to my call with Gov. Perry last week," Arpaio's ghost-tweeters posted on his Twitter page yesterday.
Romney was in Tucson this morning for a business round table discussion.
He'll be in Chandler this afternoon for a town hall-style meeting, and
will be in Tempe tonight for a fundraiser.
Bachmann reportedly grabbed a bite to eat with Cindy McCain last night and plans to meet with Arpaio this afternoon.
Arpaio spokesman Jeff Sprong promised to save us a seat for the sheriff's meeting with Bachmann.
We've got a few questions for the congresswoman, but we'd love some suggestions.
If you have any burning questions you'd like the Minnesota congresswoman
to answer, leave them in the comment section of this post -- we'll do
our best to make sure she answers them (assuming they're not racist,
comparing her to Nazis, or asking her to felate a corn dog).
Check back later for all the details of Bachmann's courtship of Arpaio.
