Sheriff Joe Arpaio's actor buddy Steven Seagal claims to be "remotely" considering a run for Arizona governor.
Although we assume Seagal's aware that his chances of becoming governor here are somewhere between zero and none, his platform of choice is not surprising: anti-immigration.

Of course, threatening to run for governor in an attempt to get attention is a classic play in the Arpaio playbook, so it's hardly surprising the likely empty threat was passed along to the crew at ABC 15.
"Joe Arpaio and I were talking about me running for governor in Arizona, which was a kind of a joke, but I suppose I would remotely consider it, but probably I would have a lot of other responsibilities that may be more important to address," Seagal said.
If he did run, it would make the GOP side of the race into a full-blown circus, and make it sound like the setup of a bad joke. A disbarred and disgraced attorney, a terrible actor, a necrophilia expert, and a guy who makes up Abraham Lincoln quotes walk into a debate hall . . .
Seagal tells ABC 15 (in the segment you can watch below) that the "open borders" are the biggest problem facing this country. As he assures everyone that convicted racial-profiler Sheriff Arpaio isn't racist, he also spouts off this totally-not-racist statement: "We believe that there are -- whether it's 10, 15, 20 percent of [undocumented immigrants] -- are hardened criminals, murderers, rapists, narco traffickers, people like that."
It's not clear who the "we" is, but it sounds like "we" means "people who make up things." The evidence (something that includes actual facts and research) shows that Seagal's allegations couldn't be further from the truth.
