While most Valley cities have been clamoring for federal stimulus money, the council for the city of Scottsdale voted this week to refuse $224,000 in federal stimulus funds. Some members of the council expressed concern that accepting the funds would create overheard that would strain city budgets in the future...After a two-day suspension of use following the fatal shooting of a mobile radar unit worker, photo radar vans are back on Valley streets. American Traffic Solutions says it's rolling out "enhanced safety measures" as the vans return to Scottsdale, Phoenix, Mesa, and Avondale, but mobile radar units have not been put back on state highways yet...A man in Youngtown was arrested after allegedly approaching a 12-year-old girl and her 35-year-old family friend and asking to pay for sex. Police arrested the suspect, Robert V. Haeseler, at a motel room, where they say they also found a number of sex toys...Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is planning another sweep to arrest illegal immigrants tonight, but the time and location are being kept under wraps...Arizona Grand Resort and the Children's Museum of Phoenix have announced a cross-promotional partnership to cater to families. The resort, which features a water park, may offer packages with tickets to the Children's Museum, among other promotional ideas...Chris DeWolfe, who co-founded Web site MySpace with Tom Anderson in 2003, will step down as CEO, says parent company News Corp. DeWolfe, whose resignation comes on the heels of MySpace falling behind rival site Facebook, will remain with the company as an adviser.
