Arrested yesterday by Phoenix police, the guy's suspected of making at least 152 prank calls to police dispatchers since May, 2008.
Police described the apparently very bored gent as being in his early 50s, but did not immediately release his name pending working out all the charges.
"We depleted a lot of resources," says Phoenix Police Officer Julio Cardenas. "On multiple calls, we would tie up a good 10 plus officers, Lieutenants, sergeants, air unit, canine units. Like I said, we didn't know if they were real or not, but we had to treat them as actual emergencies."
Police say the crank caller reported a plethora of phoney felonies -- including robbery, rape, and even murder.
"A couple of them were someone being kidnapped," said Cardenas. "[Also] a female being drug out of a trunk by her hair by gunpoint; a female inside a house screaming for help."
Hopefully the man's calls to his lawyer's office are taken as seriously as his calls to the cops, because he is in a heap of trouble.
