The Phoenix Police Department received a call the other day. It was a Gaylord Barnes, a 22-year-old Phoenix resident, who alerted cops that he'd just gotten done masturbating in front of a 2-year-old girl.

Officers responded to the house where Barnes did the deed -- which belonged to his neighbor, who says she frequently left her daughter with Barnes when she went out -- and found out that not only wasn't this the first time he'd ripped one off in front of the girl, but he'd also sexually abused her on several occasions.

According to court documents obtained by New Times, after police responded on Tuesday, Barnes told them he was watching the girl while her mother was at an appointment.

Barnes told officers he masturbated in front of the girl and took officers to the scene of the alleged crime -- the kid's bedroom.

In the room, officers found the girl sleeping in her crib, as well as a towel and tissue Barnes apparently used to "clean himself."

Since the cat was out of the bag on the type of care Barnes was providing the child when her mother was away, he started singin' like a bird.

Barnes told cops he had masturbated in front of the girl on six occasions in the last two months.

In two of those instances, Barnes told police he put his penis near the girl and she bit it.

In another assault, Barnes told police he "digitally penetrated" the girl.

The victim was taken to a hospital where she was forensically examined. The exam showed no signs of injury but found an irregularity that could be "consistent with a penetrating injury."

The girl's mother allowed cops to search the home where they found the towel and tissue paper. They also took samples from a carpet in the home, which may have served as one of Barnes' landing zones.

Barnes was arrested and charged with one count of molestation of a child and one count of public sexual indecency.
