"Honest" Meth Head Busted for Presenting Bogus Prescription at Walgreens with Ex-Girlfriend's ID

According to a Maricopa County Sheriff's Deputy, Isabel Beltran is one of the more-honest meth heads in the valley -- even though she was using an ex-girlfriend's ID and a forged prescription to buy drugs for a mysterious woman at Walgreens pharmacy last night.

About 8 p.m., Beltran showed up at a Walgreens on West Indian School Road in Phoenix with a prescription for an unspecified drug and her ex-girlfriend's ID. A Walgreens pharmacist noticed that Beltran did not look like the person on the ID and called the cops, who searched Beltran and found meth hidden in a cigarette box.

Beltran asked the arresting officer with what she was being charged. The cop responded that he would let her know once he'd read her her Miranda Rights.

"If it's about the prescription," she responded, "some girl gave it to me to get for her."

Beltran claims to have met a blond woman named "Lisa" three days earlier near 19th and Glendale avenues. The woman told her to come over and bring an ID for a prescription. For reasons incomprehensible to anyone who is not a meth head, Beltran decided to try and impersonate her ex-girlfriend rather than just write the prescription to herself.

She told the arresting officer that her ex-girlfriend is currently in Arizona Department of Corrections custody.

"Lisa" took Beltran to the Wal-Mart across the street from Walgreens, forged the prescription in her presence, and sent her out. Beltran says "Lisa" was going to wait for her in the parking lot.

Cops searched the parking lot but did not find the mysterious woman.

While talking to cops, Isabel volunteered that she probably has an outstanding warrant for burgulary, which a quick search of a law enforcement database found to be the case. She was booked for forgery and dangerous drug possession.

According to the arresting officer, Beltran was "very honest" and "upfront" with him.

If convicted, she faces the possibility of running into a pissed off ex-girlfriend in the lunchline.
