The District 3 Republican Congressional primary is one of the most crowded races in the country. According to an article in the Arizona Capitol Times yesterday, Ben Quayle, son of former Vice President Dan Quayle, is a "top-tier" candidate in the race, despite his lack of experience and his failure in gaining "the kind of business experience or community involvement that usually precedes a run for Congress."
Aside from naming Quayle a top-tier, the article is anything but flattering.
The piece -- in so many words -- spells out why Quayle is the presumed leader in the race and it's not because of his glowing personality or his great ideas, which may or may not exist -- nobody seems to know.
Quayle, the article claims, is leading the pack because he has "a ton of money and 'cause of his daddy's last name," which "scares the bejeepers out of the nine other candidates seeking the Republican nomination."
The article then goes on to basically explain why anyone -- and everyone -- in the race is more qualified than Quayle.
It even quotes former state Senator Pam Gorman, another candidate seeking the nomination, as saying, "There's 10 people in this race, and there's nine of us that may not agree on anything, but we all agree that it is completely offensive that Dan Quayle is trying to buy his little a boy a seat in Congress,"
Ouch!
