If you want to cast a ballot for the Phoenix City Council district elections on August 27, you gotta register to vote by July 29.

Seats are up for grabs in districts 2, 4, 6, and 8, and only residents living within those districts will be eligible to vote for their representative.

If you aren't sure which district you live in -- and keep in mind new boundaries became effective on January 1 -- click here to find out. Or call 602-261-VOTE.

Registering is pretty simple.

You can register by picking up and filling out a voter registration form from most libraries and government offices, such as the lobby of Phoenix City Hall at 200 West Washington Street, or at the City Clerk Department on the 15th floor of that building.

Or you can download a form from the Maricopa County Recorder's website at recorder.maricopa.gov/web/regform.aspx.

Or, just do it online at servicearizona.com.

If you have questions, call the Maricopa County Elections Department at 602-506‑1511.

If you're already registered and signed up to receive your ballot early by mail, those should start arriving on August 1.
