Jonathan Buford, founder of Arizona Wilderness Brewing Company, says the Gilbert brewery will open what he refers to as a third location next summer in downtown Gilbert. Buford says the new location will be called The Wilderness Room. It's set to open in June of 2016 and will be located in downtown Gilbert at 313 N. Gilbert Road, on the top floor of a three-story building. The new endeavor will not be so much concentrated on food, but more on craft cocktails and Arizona-based wines. Buford says he's excited about the community in downtown Gilbert and hopes to eventually open a satellite location in downtown Phoenix.

“It’s about celebrating the community and culture,” Buford says. “We want to set up each location as best as possible before making moves toward additional locations.”

Arizona Wilderness Brewery opened about two years ago in the Southeast Valley and became an instant must-try destination after being named the World's Best New Brewery by RateBeer.com. Since then, the brewery has collaborated with world-famous Danish gypsy brewer Mikkeller and made a name for itself around town by brewing small batches of beer that often feature local ingredients.

Buford says the brewery expects to break ground on the new location next month.
