Nook Kitchen to Open Inside Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown Next Year

In December, a downtown Phoenix landmark — the historic Professional Building located at 15 East Monroe Street — will reopen as the Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown, an upscale Art Deco hotel. And in addition to offering more than 150 guestrooms, a rooftop terrace, and retail shopping, the hotel will include a second location of popular Arcadia restaurant Nook Kitchen.

Minneapolis-based CSM Corporation, which owns the building, recently signed a contract with Nook proprietors Frank Vairo and Erin Brown to open a Nook restaurant include the hotel. 

The original Nook restaurant opened in fall 2013 and is known for its wood-fired pizzas, cozy atmosphere, and friendly staff. Helmed by chef Nick LaRosa, the restaurant serves a mix of modern and classic Italian dishes including a selection of bruschetta, entrees, and pizzas featuring scratch ingredients such as house-pulled mozzarella and homemade pomodoro. 

Like the soon-to-open hotel, Nook's second location will have an art deco design including 19-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and ornate columns. The main feature of the restaurant will be an octagon-shaped, marble-topped bar, at which customers will be able to eat or orer from the restaurant's selection of more than 50 boutique wines. 

Earlier this year, Nook announced plans to expand into the space adjacent to the original restaurant. Those plans are now on hold while the owners focus on opening the restaurant's second location. 

The 12-story Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown is expected to open in December and will feature 170 rooms, a rooftop terrace, large and small meeting and event spaces, a business center, a fitness center, valet parking, and retail shopping.
