Don’t compare your relationship to celebrity relationships.
You’re not going to be Steph and Ayesha Curry or John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, so stop trying.
Listen to those close to you about your partners.
If your friends and family tell you the person you’re dating is awful, you may be blinded by your attraction to them.
Go on a date outside of your comfort zone.
Either go out with someone you might not normally date or take a date somewhere you’ve never gone (even if it’s just a festival or convention). It’ll be interesting at least.
Stop starting Tinder conversations with horrendous pickup lines.
Drop “If you were a fruit, you’d be a fineapple!” from your vocabulary.
Actually watch Netflix and just chill with a date sometime.
Seriously, there’s some really good stuff on there.
Worry less and enjoy more.
If you spend too much time worrying about finding someone to date or the relationship you’re already in, you’ll probably miss out on some really great opportunities.
Ignore what you (and your dates) have done before.
Obviously, there are a few things you can’t leave in your dating past (i.e. if you have a kid). Outside of those, let’s all agree to stop worrying about where we’ve been in the past and look toward the future.
Avoid staying in a bad relationship.
It’s not easy to break things off, but don’t waste your time regardless of whether it’s actually unhealthy or you just don’t like them anymore.
Date someone you met in real life instead of online.
Tinder and OkCupid are cool, but going out and meeting people is better.
Never again use the term “bae” to describe anyone you’re dating.
Just don’t do it. Ever.
