Otakumen and Pat & Waldo's at Orpheum Lofts in Downtown Phoenix to Open Friday — Here Are the Menus

You know that emergency package of instant ramen that's been sitting in your pantry? Well, on Friday you can finally put it to good use — and we don't mean by boiling some water and eating it for lunch.

On Friday, January 8, you can take that package of instant ramen and turn it over to the folks at soon-to-open Otakumen in downtown Phoenix. In exchange — and in honor of the restaurant's grand opening — you'll get half-off a bowl of the restaurant's Otakumen-style ramen. And, if you're one of the first 50 people to show up on Friday with a package of ramen to donate, you can score even bigger and get your bowl of ramen for the affordable price of free.

Otakumen, which will serve Japanese-inspired dishes, is just half of the noodle fest that's set to open at the end of the week. The other half consists of Pat & Waldo's, a fast-casual Italian eatery that will share Otakumen's dining space on the ground floor of the Orpheum Lofts in downtown Phoenix. Both restaurants come courtesy of 24-year-old chef Marco DiSanto and will be open until 3 a.m. on Friday and Saturdays.

DiSanto says he's using recipes from the Italian side of his family at Pat's & Waldo's, while drawing on his experience working at another ramen restaurant in California at Otakumen. You can view both restaurants' menus below.

Otakumen and Pat's & Waldo's will open at 11 a.m. on Friday. Donated packages of ramen will be given to St. Mary's Food Bank after the restaurant's grand opening.
