Here's some news that should make you smile (Or should that be SMiLE?). The tortured genius behind so many Beach Boys classics has announced a concert in Phoenix this summer.

Brian Wilson is scheduled to play Celebrity Theatre on Saturday, July 9. Tickets go on sale Monday, February 1. Wilson's website has more information.

Wilson will arrive in Phoenix on a tour that aligns with the 50th anniversary of Pet Sounds, the iconic Beach Boys masterpiece universally hailed as one of the best albums of all time. Beach Boys Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin will join him (notably missing is Mike Love).

At the concert this summer Wilson will perform Pet Sounds in its entirety, as well as a few hits from the Beach Boys catalog.

The last time Wilson was in Phoenix was as a part of the Beach Boys' 50th anniversary tour. A few years before that Wilson gave us an awkward interview.

Wilson's last solo album was No Pier Pressure, released in 2015.
