It was a brazen caper, but not exactly something out of Ocean’s Eleven. Now, police are on the hunt for crooks who made off an obstacle course.

Yeah. An obstacle course, all 4,500 square feet of it.

Earlier this month, the enterprising hoods broke into a commercial yard at 3836 West Buckeye Road in Phoenix. There, they hooked up a red trailer to whatever they were driving and bolted.

The trailer contained the inflatable “Super Mega” eight-piece obstacle course, which is unique in Arizona and valued at $35,000.

Silent Witness is now offering $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Police say the burglary of Party Professionals Inc. occurred between 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, and 5:30 a.m. the next morning. The 1999 trailer had an Arizona license plate #7A7D1.

If they ever catch this bouncy-house bandit, it might be worth part of the reward money just to watch the confession interview. Motive? The imagination runs wild. Fencing a unique piece of art? Is there really a black market for parts? Underworld getaway training? Maybe police are looking for the father of a really, really spoiled child.
