Who says superheroes can’t get action beyond fight scenes? Just because they’re saving the world all the time doesn’t mean they can’t serve justice between the sheets, too. With superhero movies and TV shows more popular than ever, we're looking back at some of the steamiest moments in superhero sex history.

Dr. Manhattan’s Multitasking
Pulling out your phone mid-sex is a deal-breaker in most situations, but using the fluidity and flexibility of your superhuman form to work on a science project while getting it on is up there for the most insulting multitasking ever. The only thing that could save Watchmen's Dr. Manhattan from mixing business with pleasure in most situations is the unique gift of being able to construct his junk into the perfect size and shape (down to the molecular level) for any situation.

Daredevil Does It Blindly
Some people love the new season of Netflix’s Daredevil, and other people hate it. Just adding to its polarizing effect was the sorta-artsy sex scene between Matt Murdock and Elektra. Full of slo-mo shots and bizarre angles trying to be the famous Titanic hand scene, the love-making didn’t exactly fit with the rest of the show. But it was a welcome break after hours of binge-watching.

The Many Faces of Mystique
The most memorable sex scenes in the X-Men movies pretty much all come from Mystique. Considering that she’s essentially naked in her non-transformed form, it’s no surprise that she’s comfortable seducing everyone from Wolverine to security guards to get what she wants. That shape-shifting skill is probably also quite useful in keeping things exciting in bed.

Superman’s Splashdown
For anyone who’s seen Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, you’re probably left with a few questions. The biggest one might be whether or not Superman and Lois Lane have renter’s insurance, as they’ll need it after Superman decides to join his lady in the tub. Although there’s no actual on-screen sex, there’s likely enough water soaking into the apartment that Aquaman will need to come assist with the cleanup.

Jessica Jones Needs a New Bed
What happens when two superheroes get it on (particularly when one is impossibly strong)? They break the bed. If you don’t know about the sex scenes between Jessica Jones and Luke Cage by now, you’re probably living under a Netflix-less rock.

Deadpool Gets (Somewhat) Romantic
Going into Deadpool, fans and critics all wanted to know exactly how the powers that be would handle “the Merc with a Mouth.” While that’s answered mere seconds into the film, the rambunctious sex between Wade and Vanessa puts an exclamation point on how not-for-kids the movie really is. It’ll definitely get cleaned up for cable and airplane viewing, but the balance of humor and hotness made for some solid sex montaging.

Oliver and Felicity Find Cupid’s Arrow
It seems like every superhero either says or hears “I love you” at some point in their romantic careers, but it often happens before or after a simple kiss rather than a serious session of bumping uglies. The third season of Arrow was the exception to that rule, and what an exception it was. It also usually signals that someone is either about to die or come very close to dying, although not nearly as often as that happens in Game of Thrones.

Harley Quinn and Deadshot Get Animated
With the inherent sexuality of characters like Catwoman and Harley Quinn, it’s a little strange how asexual the Batman films tend to be. Maybe Ben Affleck will change that in the next movie, but the Dark Knight rarely experiences intimacy (despite it being mentioned several times) and usually has his love interests either betray him or die (or occasionally disappear for quite some time and then show up in a café with him). In the animated feature Batman: Assault on Arkham, Harley Quinn and Deadshot get busy, and it’s surprisingly good for cartoon villain sex. Maybe Suicide Squad will give us something to talk about.

Wolverine’s Femme Fatale
Why is Wolverine always so grumpy? Well, as it’s explained in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the love of his life turned out to be a total turncoat who could play dead better than Jigsaw. They have some great times before that, but he totally gets a pass for being a prick after that one.

Gratuitous Action in Archimedes
Watchmen
doesn’t just have one of the most memorable sex scenes in superhero history, it has two. The R-rated film took full advantage of casting Malin Akerman by using her in nude scenes with two of the film’s main male protagonists. For the amount of time she gets it on with Night Owl inside of the hovering Archimedes, an entire generation of superhero fans hit puberty during that scene.
