Four Chambers Presents the Festival of Literary Oddities
Four Chambers Press is brining simultaneous literary performances to Frontal Lobe Gallery during its Mutant Piñata Show on Saturday, March 22, from 7 to 9 p.m. Spoken word performers include Shawnte Orion, Jack Evans, Bill Campana, Deborah Berman, Heath-Smith Gearns, and MC Tristan Marshell as well as wandering entertainment by Ernesto Moncada, Ashley Naftule, and Joy Young. Starting at 8:30 p.m., the Festival of Literary Oddities will hold a Mutant Piñata-themed open mic for guests to get in on the literary action. Local bookworms are encouraged to stop by CO-OP Phoenix's Book Swap PHX, happening on Saturday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Civic Space Park. Visitors can bring up to 10 books for a one-to-one swap and donate unlimited books for the Little Free Library project, which plants small take-a-book-leave-a-book boxes throughout the downtown area. Desert Sightings is an outdoor performance that explores the many aesthetic angles of the desert through site-specific choreography by modern dance team Eiko & Koma.
