Downtown Phoenix's Roosevelt Row is home to some of the most eclectic shops in the Arizona that are within only a few blocks (sometimes steps) of each other. The shops near Roosevelt are a reflection of the diverse people in the area that seamlessly cohabit in close proximity. Everyone brings something to the table whether it be glamorous frocks, rock 'n' roll T-shirts, earthy blouses, western wear, or hipster Hawaiian print shorts. The shops come to life on First Fridays, but they really shine during the day, when things are a little quieter.

GROWop Something about this little bungalow on Sixth Street feels eco-friendly and guilt free. Maybe it's the fact that they partner with the nearby Bioscience High School to plant a sunflower garden to create biofuels. GROWop gets to the heart of vintage shopping, which is really just reusing old clothing as if it was new again. The green walls and handmade displays certainly add to the sustainable feel. Repurposed jewelry like Gilded She's pin people necklaces ($24) show that GROWop is walking the walk. The shop is stocked with stuff that looks straight out of Moonrise Kingdom. The overall aesthetic is reflected in the merchandise, quirky patterns, soft fabrics, and uncommon finds. The back room is stuffed with home goods like floral canisters, kitty cat cookie jars, and thermoses from the 1960s.
Black N Blue Rock Star Clothing & Accessories The store is rock 'n' roll through and through. The shop, which opened in May, unites music and fashion with posters of rock gods like Keith Richards, hanging guitars, and authentic vintage concert t-shirts. The men's section boasts racks of boots and plaid western shirts. The women's section has hand-dyed, studded denim cutoffs and polka dot dresses. Sunglasses and leather purses are also fully stocked. The store is located in a little house with exposed brick and wood floors that has an extra edge thanks to Space Magic Tattoo and Ultra Violet Salon in the back.
Annie Boomer Vintage Stepping into this vintage shop is like walking into a glamorous woman's close because of its little decorative details like oversize mirrors, twinkly lights, and gold hands to display an enviable collection of rings. But Annie Boomer has more than just pretty dresses. Every element of an outfit for any occasion is available in the store from yellow leather cross-body purses, silk braided caps, exotic beaded sandals, white feather bolero jackets, and even some umbrellas. Prices range from $35 to $700. Dreamy is the best way to describe this little spot with its flowy creamsicle-colored dresses and gold sequined cardigans.
Cellar Door Vintage Located on the same block as GROWop and Annie Boomer, Cellar Door fits into the mix with a collection of casual wear. The shop has the feel of a Goodwill or Savers -- except the shop owners have done all of the digging already. The store caters to hipsters and indie kids with vintage T-shirts and Hawaiian print shorts. Cellar Door is decorated like a college dorm -- think tapestries adorned with lions and Michael Jackson's Thriller on vinyl. Prices are varied with the $1 rack in front of the store and shorts for around $10.
Vintage by Misty VBM on Central is a little bit designer and a whole lot vintage. The merchandise includes high-end fashion from the likes of Missoni and Yves Saint Laurent, but shoppers will find more budget-friendly items, too. Investment pieces like an Hermès clutch cost around $1,900, but everyday clothes like a tube blouse is closer to $60. Owner Misty Guerriero Navon is serious about her vintage, and it shows. Patterns rule here and are punctuated by costume jewelry of pearls, gold, and enamel. It's the place to go for anyone who wants to stand out.
