My Favorite 15 (Songs of All Time)
Ever wonder what music plays in the New Times building while we put together the newspaper and website? Here's your chance to find out: At Crescent Ballroom on Tuesday, September 1, some staffers will play you 15 of their favorite songs. Some of our staff, including culture editor Becky Bartkowski and music editor David Accomazzo, each will spend an hour playing DJ and subjecting themselves to your praise and/or judgement. It's a 21-and-over event, and the music starts at 8 p.m. For more information, visit the Facebook event page.
Movie Mayhem
If obscure movies are your thing, Lawn Gnome is the place to be on Tuesday nights. Head over to Lawn Gnome Publishing downtown on September 1 at 7:30 p.m. and enjoy a free movie with excellent company. We can't tell you which movie will be playing, but Lawn Gnome promises it'll be one that is "strange and overlooked." You can check out the Facebook page for more information.
