Dance Walk
Phoenix
March 5

Why take a walk when you can dance it out? You can do just that if you join the Dance Walk group at the Phoenix Market Café at 9:45 a.m. on March 5, with a kickoff at 10. While a small speaker will be blasting tunes aloud, participants are encouraged to dance to the beat of their own drum — and bring their own music and headphones. All are invited to lunch back at Phoenix Market Café, immediately following the walk. Kids and pets are welcome.

Kiss Me I’m Irish Run
Glendale
March 12

Show off some St. Patrick’s Day spirit with Glendale’s Kiss Me I’m Irish Run. Several distances are offered for this event, with something in mind for every age group. From an adventuresome 17K run to an intermediate 8K run/walk, and from there, a casual 4K run/walk and finally an easy 1K-run/walk. All finishing participants will receive medals at the end of the race, as well as prizes will be awarded for fastest running times and best themed outfits for not only participants, but their pets as well.

Shamrock Run
Scottsdale
March 17

Looking to hit the streets in a different way this St. Patrick’s Day? The Shamrock Run is a four-mile road race in Scottsdale. The race begins at 7 p.m., as the sun sets on the city. Participants are asked to light up the night and the course with glow sticks, colorful flashlights, and the like to celebrate the coming of spring. An awards ceremony, happy hour, and raffle will commence at 8 at Jack’s Place in Old Town Scottsdale, where participants can partake in food and drink specials and post-race refreshments.

City Solve Urban Race Series
Phoenix
March 26

Get to know the Phoenix area in a whole new way with this urban adventure-seeking scavenger hunt. Throughout the race, clues will send participants on a merrymaking hunt around the city. The race will consist of 10 clues, all centered on pop culture, and two bonus questions that can be the difference between win and lose as the clock counts down. Participants can use their wits, their smartphones, and the help of local patrons to help solve clues and take on new challenges. They will explore by bus, foot, and light rail. A party caps off this race with over $500 awarded in cash and prizes, with $300 going to the winning team.

Exploring Siphon Draw Trail
Lost Dutchman State Park
March 30

This 4.2-mile hike will traverse through a unique section of the Lost Dutchman State Park, one created through volcanic activity and explosions more than 15 million years ago. Examine the defined layers of rock and interesting formations caused by the intense history of this area. This is an intermediate hike with just over 1,000 feet in elevation gain. The trek will take approximately three hours, and participants are advised to bring plenty of water and a snack. Hiking boots are recommended for this area’s rugged terrain.
