Six local theater companies have announced that they'll honor tickets purchased for canceled Actors Theatre productions.
The professional company announced in December 2014 that it would close after nearly 30 years. Originally, Actors Theatre representatives had said that refunds would not be granted for purchased tickets to shows in the remainder of its 2014-15 season including Annapurna, Stage Kiss, and The Year of Magical Thinking.
However, patrons now will be able to exchange tickets for shows at Arizona Theatre Company, Arizona Broadway Theatre, Childsplay, Phoenix Theatre, Stray Cat Theatre, and Theater Works.

"We are very grateful on behalf of our patrons to these four theatre companies," says Actors Theatre producing artistic director Matthew Wiener in a press release. "Knowing that they will be taken care of really does ease our minds."
In order to swap tickets, patrons should contact the box office of the theater at which they'd like to attend a performance. Below are the participating theaters and their respective phone numbers.

"We are incredibly proud of Actors Theatre's legacy over nearly 30 years," Wiener says. "We know that many patrons left most of our productions affected by and talking about what they saw on stage. Perhaps we will again see those or similar productions and the high professional quality of what went on both on and behind the stage. In the meantime, and in spite our deep, deep sadness at this time, we do know that there are many great arts and cultural opportunities in the Valley. Perhaps we will be part of them again sometime in the future."
