7 Places to Watch Fourth of July Fireworks in Metro Phoenix

We know why everyone says they love the Fourth of July — freedom, patriotism, etc. But it’s time we all stopped lying to ourselves and admit the real reason we all look forward to this holiday so much: fireworks. Whether it’s the appreciation of the artistry and choreography of the displays or the innate desire humans seem to have to see things blow up, there’s no denying that those colorful explosions across the sky are the highlight of every Fourth of July celebration.

We’ve rounded up seven places around the Valley where you can get your fireworks fix and so much more this Independence Day.

Westgate Firework Fest
Over 40,000 people gathered at the Westgate Entertainment District last year to witness one of the largest fireworks displays in the West Valley. If you want to be one of those thousands this year, you better be at 6751 North Sunset Boulevard in Glendale on July 4. The free festivities, including live music on two stages and a beer garden for those 21 and over, will start at 5 p.m., but many of the surrounding restaurants and stores will be offering deals all day. Scottsdale Fourth of July at WestWorld
If you want an entire afternoon and evening of outrageous Fourth of July entertainment, culminating in an amazing fireworks display, but you don’t want to have to brave the Arizona summer heat to do so, WestWorld holds your answer. Starting at 2 p.m. on the Fourth, WestWorld will open up their 300,000-square-foot air-conditioned equestrian center and fill it with games, food, rides, and even Grand Prix “Gatsby-era” racing. Oh, and then the fireworks will start around 9 p.m., because that’s what you really wanted to know, right? General admission tickets are $12 in advance, $17 at the door. Third of July Fireworks Extravaganza
Maybe you don’t want to hassle with all the crowds on the actual holiday or maybe you’re just a rebel and don’t like the Man telling you when to celebrate America, but either way, you should be at the Third of July celebration in Cave Creek. The party will be going down, starting at 5 p.m., all over town at Harold’s Corral, 6895 East Cave Creek Road, The Buffalo Chip Saloon, 6811 East Cave Creek Road, and the Roadhouse, 6900 East Cave Creek Road. A shuttle will be available to take guests around to the various locations. At sunset, be sure to take your seats to see the fireworks display in the sky behind Harold’s. Admission to all three restaurants is free, but if you want one of the best seats in the house for the fireworks, tables can be reserved at Harold’s, ranging from $10 for a two-top to $30 for a 10-top. Made in the USA Rooftop Independence Day Weekend Pool Party
We would bet there are going to be few better places to view the fireworks shot from Chase Field on the Fourth of July than at the rooftop pool at Hotel Palomar, 2 East Jefferson Street. Of course, you’ll also have LUSTRE Rooftop Garden at your disposal, and we hear they’ll be creating some specialty cocktails for the event. There will also be live music from acts including Foster Brothers Five Piece Band and DJ Kim E Fresh. Access to the pool is free for hotels guests at $10 for the public. Tempe 4th
If rocking out to live music is your goal this Fourth of July, there’s no better place for you than Tempe 4th at Tempe Beach Park, 80 West Rio Salado Parkway. With an entire evening of live music planned, you’ll definitely be in the kind of spirit to celebrate America by the time the fireworks are launched from Mill Avenue Bridge. Take a break from the performers, and check out the splash playground, inflatable rides, and food and drink vendors too. Fourth of July Splash Bash
You could stay indoors this year to stay cool during your Fourth of July celebration. But on the other hand, you could just not and head to the Litchfield Park Recreation Center Swimming Pool, 100 South Old Litchfield Road, for the Fourth of July Splash Bash. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., people of all ages will gather to celebrate our country’s freedom while keeping cool in the pool. Admission is $2 or free with a valid Litchfield Park pool pass. Fabulous Phoenix Fourth
Those Phoenicians who reside within the middle of the city probably don’t want to risk facing traffic in order to get to their Fourth of July celebrations. But don’t worry, you won’t have to go far to see one of the biggest fireworks displays in the Valley. The Fabulous Phoenix Fourth event will once again be taking over Steele Indian School Road at 300 East Indian School Road. Every year, tens of thousands of people enjoy Fabulous Phoenix’s local entertainment, inflatable rides, and “Splash Zone,” and this year will be no different.
