Caroline Battle will admit to watching pawn-shop reality TV shows with friends -- when she's not making art, that is.
She studied ballet and dance in Maryland before coming to Arizona to study printmaking at Arizona State University. She's now the face behind Slowest Press, where she makes her own paper, presses and prints her own art, zines, and fliers, and collaborates with local record label Holy Page.
I came to Phoenix with . . . a suitcase.
I make art because . . . it's a really great way to communicate. You never know what someone's going to hear.
I'm the most productive when . . . I've guzzled a sour apple/watermelon freezoni.
My inspiration wall is full of . . . lots of bits of paper with writing and art from friends.
I've learned the most from . . . generous people and saguaro cactus.
Good work should always . . . be rewarding.
