Alejandra Vidal of Imaginale Design is a big believer in making style mistakes.

"Give yourself permission to make them," the chic, bubbly writer behind the blog Imaginale says, "because they help you get closer to defining your own personal style."

Vidal calls her style "feminine and accessible," and she has it in spades. As a local photographer, Vidal spends her days creating inspiration boards, taking beautiful photographs and styling outfits for her blog's Outfit Chronicles.

She just recently moved from Atlanta to Phoenix but already haunts local hotspots like Butter Toast Boutique and Buffalo Exchange.

So, what are you wearing?
Dress from a boutique in Spain worn as a top, coral skirt from Express, vintage belt from Buffalo Exchange in Atlanta, shoes from DSW; gold clutch from my aunt that was one of those freebies from a makeup purchase at Dillard's.

What's your favorite outfit to wear?
This Spanish dress I'm wearing because I've paired it with so many things. It's so versatile and it has an effortless feel, which I like.

What's the last item of clothing you bought?
A soft pink dress from H&M. I love pastel colors mixed with gold right now, and coral.

Where do you usually shop?
Forever 21, any vintage boutique, and Ross - I love Ross. They have great, inexpensive basics.

What do you like to accessorize with?
Earrings. That's something I've liked since high school. But most recently, belts, because belts transform outfits instantly.

What item of clothing do you most covet at the moment?
Something I've really been looking for is a pair of cute but comfortable nude heels. The ones I find are too tall.

Where would you love to have a shopping spree?

Forever 21, Free People, because of their fun, edgy pieces, and Zara. Each place contains [items] that are a piece of me: playful, funky, and refined.

Who are some of your style icons?
Well, it's a combination of Kate Middleton and Gwen Stefani. They're both effortless, bold and refined, and I love combining those things. Their styles really display who they are.

Give us a childhood memory of you and clothes:
My mom was very accessory-oriented and I'd match to a t. I have a picture where I'm wearing a black-and-white striped top with black leggings and black-and-white converse.

Name five items every woman should have in her closet:

1. A fitted waist belt.
2. An ivory cardigan, because it matches everything.
3. A funky pair of earrings.
4. A pair of jeans that make you feel sexy.
5. A beautiful but comfortable pair of heels.

What is your one piece of fashion advice for Phoenix:
Start simple and define your style first. When you pick up an article of clothing in a store, make sure you love it before you spend your money. Shop with a purpose, and don't be afraid to make mistakes!
